How the solution meets the brief

The visual identity translates a sensitive subject into a symbolic and restrained visual language. Through muted colour, non-literal imagery and neutral typography, the project creates a safe and respectful entry point into the course’s healing journey.

Visual System

The visual system is built around a palette of deep, desaturated blues, combined with soft contrast and organic texture. The butterfly appears as the central visual element, sometimes fragmented, sometimes whole, explored through symmetry, inversion and close detail.

The typography is intentionally sans serif, chosen for its neutrality and restraint. It supports the content without amplifying it, allowing the subject to be approached with clarity and respect rather than emotional excess.

Subtle radial blur details were applied in selected areas, introducing a sense of uncertainty and suspension. Rather than obscuring meaning, this effect suggests the space between what is difficult to name and the curiosity that invites deeper exploration, mirroring the sensitive and unfolding nature of the healing process.

Concept & Creative Direction

The concept is rooted in the butterfly as a symbol of metamorphosis. Just as a butterfly moves through a long and often painful process before gaining wings, this course represents an entry point into transforming traumatic experience into self-awareness, through learning how to navigate it with presence and understanding.

The visual language draws inspiration from inversion techniques found in printmaking and serigraphy, evoking references to X-ray imagery, photographic negatives and deep analysis. This approach introduces a subtle sense of discomfort, intentionally inviting observation, reflection and curiosity rather than avoidance.

Exploring multiple angles, fragments and close details of the butterfly reflects the different phases of healing. There is no single linear path. Each stage holds its own form of beauty, even when it feels fragile, unclear or incomplete.

The choice of a muted blue palette acts as a gesture of respect towards the subject matter. It is a colour that does not seek attention, but instead creates containment, calm and emotional space. The identity does not demand to be seen. It quietly holds.
